LightSheer Laser Hair Removal

LightSheer® uses a state-of-the-art diode laser technology, A precise laser pulse targets the pigment in the hair follicles while leaving the skin unharmed, the most effective type for both light and dark skin.

How Does LightSheer Laser  Hair Removal Work?

The laser energy follows the hair shaft down into the follicle, heats it, and destroys its ability to produce another hair. A full treatment series has six to 10 sessions, to target all hair follicles at different stages of the growth cycle.

How Should You Prepare For LightSheer Hair Removal?

You’ll need to stop waxing, tweezing, or plucking the hair you want removed anywhere from two to six weeks before your appointment. A day prior to your session, shave the area where you wish to have hair removed so it’s easier for the laser to reach the follicles.

Stop tanning (including self-tanner lotions and tanning beds) entirely the month before your treatment. Lasers are attracted to pigment in both the hair follicles and the skin, so avoiding skin tone changes helps lower the risk of burns.

What Should You Expect During LightSheer Laser Hair Removal?

We start with a patch test, to make sure your skin doesn’t have a negative reaction. If you’re particularly sensitive, you may need to apply a topical numbing cream prior to the session.

During treatment, the laser emits a concentrated beam of light to damage the hair follicle and prevent regrowth.

During the treatment, you may feel mild discomfort, like a warm pinprick or snap, as the laser passes over your skin.

You may notice a bit of redness and swelling immediately after treatment, but that should fade within a day or two. Ice packs and anti-inflammatories can help keep swelling down.

When Will You See Results From LightSheer Laser Hair Removal?

As with hair removal treatments, you’ll need multiple sessions to see results. Usually, 20% of hair is removed with each treatment, Treatments are repeated every six weeks on the face and every 8 to 12 weeks on the body. This allows for effective removal of hairs in the anagen (growth) phase.

The hair in the treated areas will fall out gradually, in patches, the hair-free patches increasing in size with each session.

Most people start to see results by around week three.

Remember to keep out of the sun during your session schedule, wearing sunscreen if the lasered areas are exposed to sunlight.

LightSheer Laser Wrinkle Reduction Treatment And How Does It Work?

The wrinkle reduction treatments are performed on LightSheer 1060nm laser system, which contact skin cooling function protects the epidermis and reduces the risk of prolonged edema.

Wrinkles can be generally classified to one of the following groups:

  • Superficial wrinkles

which are associated with textural changes of the skin surface caused by intrinsic aging and photoaging of defined areas. The outlines of the wrinkles may be discrete at first and become more visible over time.

  • Dynamic wrinkles

commonly referred to as lines or furrows. This is the visible effect of deep dermal creasing caused by repeated facial movement or expression, combined with dermal elastosis. They occur with aging as the forehead and glabellar lines, nasolabial folds, radial lip lines, marionette lines.

The soft tissue of the skin dermis is naturally enriched with water that absorbs laser energy within the NIR region.
The mechanism behind laser treatment of wrinkles is the induction of new dermal collagen formation following a deliberate energy-induced thermal damage as a result of absorption of laser energy in the target tissue.

The 1060nm is absorbed by dermal water and proteins which allows for a non-specific mild volumetric heating effect while remaining non-ablative.

How Often Can You Do Lightsheer Laser Wrinkle Reduction Treatment And How Many Sessions You Need?

Session intervals are typically 3-4 weeks apart. Plan an average of 3-5 sessions and allow a follow-up time of three months to evaluate the final clinical outcome of wrinkle reduction.
